‘Adani Enterprises plans to enter pet coke trading biz’

August 14: After having consolidated its position as the leading supplier of imported coal to Indian consumers, Adani Enterprises Ltd is set to deal in imported petroleum coke as well, an industry source said.

Till now, the Adani Group was not into trading of petroleum coke, according to the source.

“Adani Enterprises recently roped in a top official from Reliance Industries Ltd, India’s largest producer of petroleum coke, and this shows that the company is quite serious about making its presence felt in the pet coke segment as well,” the source said.

The official from Reliance, who was based in Mumbai, will operate from Adani’s coal business trading headquarters in Gurgaon, the source said, but ICMW could not verify this information from the company.
