August 12: The two rounds of explorative drilling at Coal India Ltd’s (CIL)’s coal blocks in Mozambique have not yet revealed anything conclusive, a senior official from the company told ICMW.
“Exploration drilling is on at Mozambique. We have already done the second phase of drilling and the third and final phase of drilling is on. May be, in next one to three months, we will complete that as well,” the official said.
Asked whether there are any indications of the type of reserves at the blocks based on two phases of drilling, the official said, “It is very difficult to say anything very conclusive at this moment.”
“Right now we are doing analysis and then we will do co-relation. But, in the next two to three months, we will know everything. If the project is viable then only we will go ahead with that,” the official added.
