• Indian power units’ Nov coal receipts up 1.09% m-o-m

Total coal receipts, both indigenous and domestic, by Indian power utilities, in November 2015, stood at 48.54 million tons (mt), up 1.09% against 48.01 mt received in October, as per CEA data available with ICMW.
The receipt of coal (both indigenous and imported), by Indian power utilities during the first eight (April-November) months of 2015-16 edged up by 4.50% to 362.48 mt from 346.84 mt received during the corresponding period of 2014-15, according to the data ICMW.
However, the receipt of domestic coal during the first eight months was up by 7.54% at 308.19 mt from 286.58 mt received during the same period of the previous financial year.
In November, the total receipt of coal by power plants stood at 48.54 mt, up 1.55% from 47.80 mt received during the same month in 2014.
During the month, there was 7.39% increase in receipt of indigenous coal by power plants at 42.30 mt from 39.39 mt in the same month last year while imported coal receipts fell by 25.80% to 6.24 mt from 8.41 mt recorded in November 2014.
