"We are the country of 130 crore, but only around 90 people are doing research on concrete and cement. That is why we seriously need to think about it as far as the future of concrete and cement technology is concerned," said Bishwajit Bhattacharjee, professor of civil engineering at IIT, Delhi.

Addressing a programme on 'Cement Day' organized by Nagpur centre of Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) and ACC Cement in memory of Joseph Aspdin, who invented cement, on Friday, Bhattacharjee spoke on evolution, micro structure and alkali-activated cements and coal production in India.
