10 more companies hauled up by MoC as new year sets in

January 2: The Ministry of Coal (MoC) started off the new calendar by show-causing 7 more companies with end-use plants over the unsatisfactory progress made with regard to the coal blocks allocated to them and seeking explanation from three over the same reasons.
Of the seven show-caused, five have been told to furnish a detailed status note on the progress of the end-use plant(s)/EUPs for which the coal blocks had been allocated.
These include Maharashtra State Mining Corporation with regard to the Marki-Zari-Jamani-Adkoli coal block, Kamal Sponge Steel & Power and Revati Cement with regard to Thesgora-B/Rudrappuri coal block, AMR Iron & Steel Pvt Ltd, Century Textiles & Industries and J K Cement in respect of Bander coal block, Prism Cement in respect of Sial Ghoghri coal block and the joint allocatees of Fatehpur East Coal Block (JLD Yavatmal Energy Limited, Visa Power Limited and Vandana Vidyut Limited).
Out of the three from whom explanation has been sought, Bharat Aluminium Company (Durgapur-II/Taraimar coal block) and Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Gare Pelma Sector-III coal block) too have been asked to furnish a detailed status report on the end-use plants.
All the 10 entities have been given time till January 20, to explain or show cause, as the case may be on the reasons for the slow progress.
