169 land cases in ECL, CCL command areas

April 27: Altogether 169 cases of land-related grievances have been received from the oustees in the command area of Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL) and Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), according to Coal and Power Minister Piyush Goyal.
Of these, 163 cases are received by ECL while 6 are under CCL command area, he said.
“Certain grievances with reference to payment of compensation and providing employment to persons whose lands were acquired for mining by ECL and CCL have been received by these companies. All such grievances received have been examined and disposed of as per the prevailing policies/norms of the company. No such complaints have been received from other subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL),” Goyal said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
