281 tons of met coke imported via Paradip in October

November 7: A small volume of 281 tons of met coke was imported through Paradip Port in October 2014 while there were no imports of the material through the port in September, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports through the port were hit because of the onslaught of Cyclone Hudhud.
In October 2013, volumes were much higher at 109,781 tons.
Total imports of met coke via the port during the first seven months of the current financial year (2014-15) stood at 429,027 tons against 403,967 tons imported through the port during the same period of 2013-14.
Total met coke imports through this port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 amounted to 736,796 tons.

In October, a single consignment arrived from China at a unit price of 8,956 ($145).
In August, imports consisted of 15,336 tons from China in a band of Rs 8,871 – Rs 14,012 ($143-227) per ton, 21,000 tons from Colombia at a unit price of Rs 18,217 ($300) and the balance 10,000 tons from the Russian Federation at a unit price of Rs 12,871 ($208).
