New User29 blocks de-allocated, so far, for unsatisfactory performance

February 11: Based on the recommendations of the Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG), which had reviewed the progress of development of coal blocks and associated end-use plants, a total of 29 blocks have been de-allocated during the year 2012-13 and current year, Minister of State for Coal Pratik Prakashbapu Patil said.
The de-allocation took place as there was no substantial progress in development of the coal blocks or the progress in development of the coal blocks was found to be unsatisfactory, Patil was quoted as saying in an official release.
