36 cos evince interest in competitive bidding for 3 captive blocks

April 4: Altogether 36 companies have shown interest in competitive bidding for three captive blocks being offered to the private sector by the government for captive mining, a top official of CMPDI told ICMW.

Out of the 36 companies which have purchased bid documents, 33 parties were present at the pre-bid meeting at the CMPDI headquarters in Ranchi on April 4.

"They sought clarifications on the pricing method and other issues," the official said.

The majority of the companies which have shown interest are from the sponge iron and cement sectors. However, not all the 36 parties may submit bids as they have to assess the costs and other factors, the official said.

The last date for submitting bids is end of May.
