4 solar PV stations of NTPC start commercial operation

March 31: Three solar PV power stations of NTPC Limited – in Faridabad (5MW), Unchahar (10 MW) and Rajgarh (30 MW) – have started commercial operation on March 31, 2014, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
With the commissioning and commercial declaration of the above units, the total capacity of non-conventional energy projects of NTPC has reached 75 MW and the total commissioned and commercial capacity of NTPC Group has touched 43,019 MW and 41,859 MW, respectively.
Earlier, on March 28, NTPC had commercially declared a 10 MW solar power plant in Talcher, Odisha, said a company statement.
The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been already been signed with DVC for the 10 MW solar plant out of which 8 MW is located near Stage II area of the permanent township of the plant and the remaining 2 MW near village Pathermunda (adjacent to NTPC plant), the statement added.
