A K Mittal takes charge as Chairman, Railway Board

January 1: A K Mittal has been appointed as new Chairman, Railway Board & Ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of India, a Government release said.
Mital has succeeded Arunendra Kumar, who superannuated on December 31, 2014, the release said.
Mittal, a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) and an Officer of 1976 batch of Indian Railways Service of Stores (IRSS), was member staff, Railway Board and ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India.
Earlier, he served as General Manager of South Western Railway-SWR (Headquarters at Hubli) and was also looking after the additional charge of General Manager, South Central Railway- SCR (Headquarter at Secunderabad).
