ACC third quarter net profit increases 62%

October 30: ACC Limited, a major cement manufacturer in India, reported a 61.98% growth in net profit (consolidated) for the July-September or third quarter of 2014-15 (the company’s  financial calendar is per the financial calendar) to Rs 192.60 crore against Rs 118.90 crore reported in the same quarter of the previous fiscal, on the back of better cost management, particularly with regard to distribution costs and optimised sourcing of inputs and improved realisations, the company said in a filing to BSE.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, however, the company’s net profit dropped from Rs 243.15 crore in the April-June quarter (Q2).

During the third quarter of 2014-15, the company’s total sales turnover increased nearly 8% to Rs 2,741.87 crore compared to Rs 2,505.44 crore reported in the same period of the last financial year.

During the quarter, the company’s sales volume stood at 5.62 million tons (mt), up 1.44% from 5.54 mt recorded in the same quarter of 2013-14. In the first nine months the company’s sales volume stood at 18.44 mt up from 18.04 mt in the same quarter of 2013-14.
