Adani Power FY16 coal imports for Tirora, Mundra up 10%

Total steam coal imports by Adani Power Limited for its Tirora and Mundra thermal power plants in 2015-16 were at 18.71 mt, an increase of 10.25% over 16.97 mt imported in the previous fiscal of 2014-15, according to provisional data from CEA available with ICMW.
The volume of steam coal imported for its Tirora thermal power plant in March 2016 was a mere 8 tons while there had been no imports of the fuel for the plant in February, according to provisional data from CEA available with ICMW.
For Tirora, the target for March was 208,000 tons, which means the materialisation for the month was a mere 8%. For 2015-16, the plant’s coal imports were at 1,943,000 tons which had been 78% of the target of 2,500,000 tons set for the period but a drop of 18% against 2,374,000 tons imported in the previous fiscal.
However, the Mundra TPS’s coal imports in March 2016 were at 1,304,000 tons against 1,436,000 tons in February 2016.
Of the total imports during the month, materialisation for the Mundra TPS stood at 116% of the target of 1,125,000 tons.
Total imports for the Mundra TPS for 2015-16 stood at 16,767,000 tons, which was 124% of the target of 13,500,000 tons and an increase of 15% over 14,596,000 tons reported for the previous fiscal.
