Adani Power’s coal import rise marginally in May

June 16: Adani Power (Tirora) has received a total of 153,000 ton of imported steam coal in May 2014, much higher than the target of 167,000 tons for the months, and also higher from 204,000 tons imported in April, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The private sector power utilities coal import during the first two months of 2014-15 stood 441,000 tons, higher by 32% against the target of 333,000 tons.
The utility had not received imported coal in May 2013, but had received 96,000 tons of imported coal in April 2013 which means its import during the first two months of 2013-14 was only 96,000 tons.
The utility had a target to import 1.00 million tons of coal in 2013-14, which has been doubled to 2.00 mt for 2014-15.
