Adani Power’s coal imports down in November

December 24: Adani Power (Tirora) received a total of 149,000 tons (revised by CEA) of imported steam coal in November 2014, below the target of 167,000 tons set for the month, and also down from 157,000 tons imported in October, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
This private sector power utility’s coal imports during the first eight months of 2014-15 stood at 1,628,000 tons, higher from the target of 1,333,000 tons.
The utility had received 173,000 tons of imported coal in November 2013 which means its imports during the first eight months of 2013-14 were only 764,000 tons.
The utility had a target to import 1 million tons of coal in 2013-14, which has been doubled to 2 mt for 2014-15.
