Adani Power’s coal imports fall in August

September 18: Adani Power (Tirora) received a total of 236,000 tons of imported steam coal in August 2014, up from the target of 167,000 tons set for the month, but down from 334,000 tons imported in July, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
This private sector power utility’s coal imports during the first five months of 2014-15 stood at 1,273,000 tons, higher by 52.82% against the target of 833,000 tons.
The utility had received 156,000 tons of imported coal in August 2013 which means its imports during the first five months of 2013-14 were only 329,000 tons.
The utility had a target to import 1 million tons of coal in 2013-14, which has been doubled to 2 mt for 2014-15.
