Adani Power’s coal imports rise in July

August 13: Adani Power (Tirora) received a total of 334,000 tons of imported steam coal in July 2014, much higher than the target of 167,000 tons set for the month, and also higher from 262,000 tons imported in June, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
This private sector power utility’s coal imports during the first four months of 2014-15 stood at 1,037,000 tons, higher by 55.47% against the target of 667,000 tons.
The utility had received 77,000 tons of imported coal in July 2013 which means its imports during the first four months of 2013-14 were only 173,000 tons.
The utility had a target to import 1 million tons of coal in 2013-14, which has been doubled to 2 mt for 2014-15.
