Adani Power’s coal imports up in October

November 19: Adani Power (Tirora) received a total of 157,000 tons of imported steam coal in October 2014, below the target of 167,000 tons set for the month, but sharply up from 49,000 tons imported in September, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
This private sector power utility’s coal imports during the first seven months of 2014-15 stood at 1,479,000 tons, higher from the target of 1,167,000 tons.
The utility had received 133,000 tons of imported coal in October 2013 which means its imports during the first seven months of 2013-14 were only 591,000 tons.
The utility had a target to import 1 million tons of coal in 2013-14, which has been doubled to 2 mt for 2014-15.
