July 15: Adani Enterprises Limited has bagged an order for the supply of 0.25 million tons of imported coal to Nabha Power Limited, a Punjab-based independent power producer, market sources said.
The order was released to Adani Enterprises about a week back (around July 7) and one rake has already arrived at the plant, sources said.
The order was placed at plant delivered price of around Rs 8,600 per ton, which is much above the prevailing prices, the sources added.
On June 23, Nabha Power Limited had floated an enquiry to procure up to 0.25 million tons of imported steam coal and up to 0.30 mt of blended domestic and imported coal.
Nabha Power was looking to procure imported coal with calorific value of 6,300 Kcal/kg (GAR).
The current FOB price of South African coal with calorific value of 5,500 Kcal/kg (NAR) or 6,300 Kcal/kg (GAR) is around $64.00 (Rs 3,840) per ton and the freight rate from Richards Bay to the western coast of India is estimated at around $13.50 (Rs 810) per ton.
