July 11: The Principal Secretary (Industries) of Andhra Pradesh has been directed to finalise a suitable site within the next 15 days for NTPC Ltd to set up a 4,000-MW thermal power plant at Pudimadaka.
The direction came from the chief minister of the state, Chandrababu Naidu, when NTPC Chairman and Managing Director Arup Roy Choudhury met him recently.
Meanwhile, NTPC has agreed to set up a 300-MW solar park in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district through competitive bidding. The park will provide solar energy to the state at the lowest rate and will also add Green energy to the state’s power portfolio.
