Anthracite coal imports via Kolkata down 21.69% in Dec m-o-m

January 9: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata stood at 15,630 tons in December 2013 against 8,560 tons reported in November 2013, showing an 82.59% upsurge, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 85,783 tons in the first nine months of the current fiscal, whereas the figure was at 59,710 tons in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal, registering an increase of 43.66% for the nine-month period.
During December 2012, imports stood at 6,870 tons, showing a 127% year-on-year increase.

In December, the consignments arrived from Ukraine in a price range of Rs 7,246- Rs 11,695 ($115-$188) per ton.
In November, 8,464 tons arrived from Ukraine in a range of Rs 7,269 - Rs 11,422 ($115-$183) per ton and the balance came in from China at a unit price of Rs 26,340 ($416).
