Anthracite coal imports via Kolkata down 64.55% in Feb m-o-m

March 7: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata stood at 13,627 tons in February 2014 against 38,449 tons in January 2014, showing a drop of 64.55%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 137,859 tons in the first 11 months of the current fiscal, whereas the figure was at 72,529 tons in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
During February 2013, imports stood at 10,560 tons. Total anthracite coal imports through the port in the entire fiscal of 2012-13 stood at 81,540 tons.

In February 2014, imports comprised 13,483 tons from Ukraine in a price band of Rs 10,177 – Rs 11,339 ($164-$182) per ton and 144 tons from China in a price bracket of Rs 21,548 – 25,945 ($342 – Rs 412) per ton.
In January 2014, the entire volume arrived from Ukraine in a price band of Rs 7,364 – Rs 11,615 ($117-$187) per ton.
