October28: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata stood at 1,008 tons in September 2013, from 9,340 tons imported in August 2013, showing a decrease of 89.21%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 50,662 tons in the first six months of the current fiscal, whereas the figure was at 45,048 tons in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
During the same month last year, the imports stood at 2,058 tons.

In September, 2013, the entire amount arrived from China at a price range of Rs 27,426-Rs 28,754($412-$451).
In August, 2013, 888 tons arrived from China in a price band of Rs 25,985 – Rs 26,980 ($398-$436) per ton, 800 tons arrived from Russia at Rs 9,451 ($154) per ton, 7,652 tons arrived from Ukraine in a price band of Rs 10,003 – Rs 12,954 ($153- $198) per ton.
