Anthracite coal imports via Kolkata up 146% in Jan m-o-m

February 12: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata stood at 38,449 tons in January 2014 against 15,630 tons in December 2013, showing a huge 146% upsurge, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
With this, anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 124,232 tons in the first 10 months of the current fiscal, whereas the figure was at 61,969 tons in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.
During January 2013, imports stood at a mere 2,259 tons.

In January 2014, the entire volume arrived from Ukraine in a price band of Rs 7,364 - Rs 11,615 ($117-$187) per ton.
In December 2013 too, the consignments arrived from Ukraine but in a price range of Rs 7,246 - Rs 11,695 ($115-$188) per ton.
