Anthracite coal imports via Mundra rise sharply in September

October17: After a sharp decline in August, anthracite coal imports through Mundra port rose sharply in September. Anthracite coal imports through the port stood at 2,130 tons in September 2013 from 108 tons imported in August, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The total import of anthracite coal through Mundra port in the first six months of 2013-14 stood at 39,299 tons while the figure stood at 2,078 tons in the same period of the previous financial year.

In September2013, the entire quantity came from Ukraine at a price range of Rs 10,967 - Rs 10, 707 ($163.69-$168) per ton.
In August 2013, the entire quantity came from China at a price range of Rs 20,183 - Rs 20,608 ($326-$333) per ton.
