Anthracite coal imports via Vizag drop sharply in Sept m-o-m

October 28: Imports of anthracite coal through the port of Vizag stood at a mere 84 tons in September 2013 against 1,850 tons reported in August 2013, showing a drastic drop, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

There were no imports of anthracite coal during April-June, 2013, whereas the figure stood at 475 tons in July. With this, volumes for the first six months of the current year stand at 2,409 tons whereas the same was at 41,786 tons during the first six months of 2012-13.

In September 2013, the entire consignment arrived from Ukraine at a unit price of Rs 12,081 ($180) per ton.

In August, too, the entire consignment arrived from Ukraine in a price band of Rs 11,190 – Rs 11,316 ($182 - $173) per ton.
