Anthracite imports via Cochin surge 150% in 2015-16

Imports of anthracite coal via Cochin Port were sharply up 150% to 45 tons in fiscal 2015-16 against 18 tons in 2014-15, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

On the other hand, there were no imports of the material via the port in March 2016 as well as in February 2016.

A volume of 27 tons of anthracite coal was last imported via this port in January 2016.

Following are details of anthracite coal imports through the port in 2015-16 and 2014-15 (in tons):

In January, the entire volume of 27 tons was imported from China at a unit price of Rs 18,053 ($268) per ton.
