Anthracite coal imports through the port of Vizag dropped a considerable 79% to 8,240 tons in March 2016 against 39,300 tons in February 2016, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
With the addition of the March figures, total anthracite imports for fiscal 2015-16 stood at 107,997 tons against 114,654 tons reported in the previous fiscal, edging down 5.81% year-on-year.
In March 2015, there were no imports of the material.

In March 2016, 8,000 tons arrived from Russia at a unit price of Rs 5,738 ($84-85) and the balance 240 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 21,412 ($315).
