April gypsum imports via Vizag Port surge m-o-m

May 9: Gypsum imports through the port of Vizag spurted sharply to 139,940 tons in April 2014 against a volume of 55,213 tons reported in March, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In April, 139,787 tons arrived from Oman in a price band of Rs 1,544 - Rs 9,417 ($$25-156) per ton, while 81 tons came in from Pakistan at a unit price of Rs 9,466 ($156) and 73 tons from the UAE at Rs 9,161 ($151) per ton.

In March, 55,059 tons arrived from Oman in a range of Rs 1,552 - Rs 9,658 ($25-$156) per ton, 82 tons from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 10,180 ($164), and 73 tons from the UAE at a unit price of Rs 9,395 ($152).
