April shortfall in coal receipts by Indian power utilities at 2.03 mt

May 22: Total shortfall in coal receipts by Indian power utilities during April 2014 stood at 2.03 million tons (mt), according to provisional data made available to ICMW by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
Total receipts during the month stood at 43.261 mt against a total requirement of 45.291 mt, data revealed.
Out of the total receipts, 33.193 mt came from domestic sources Coal India Limited (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), while imported coal receipts stood at 7.180 mt. A volume of 2.888 mt came from other sources, as per the data.
