Asia, Africa June coal imports from RBCT up 40.89% m-o-m

July 9: Imports of coal from RBCT by African and Asian countries, excluding India, moved up almost 40.89% to 1,345,757 tons in June 2014 compared to 955,168 tons in May 2014, revealed data available with ICMW.

Imports in June this year, however, fell by 38.59% compared to 2,191,537 tons recorded during the same month in 2013, the data revealed.

During the first six months of 2014 (January-June), total coal imports by Asian and African countries stood at 9,420,910 tons against 12,815,634 tons reported during the corresponding period of the previous year.

On the other hand, during FY 2013-14, total imports stood at 34,271,332 tons compared to 33,206,594 tons imported in FY 2012-13.
