Asia, Africa coal imports from RBCT almost treble in March

April 8: Imports of coal from RBCT by African and Asian countries, excluding India, rose almost three times to 2,700,426 tons in March 2014 compared to 983,312 tons in February 2014, revealed data available with ICMW.

Imports in March this year, however, fell by 13.97% compared to 3,139,098 tons recorded during the same month in 2013, the data revealed.

During 2014, total coal imports by African and Asian countries stood at 5,340,912 tons compared to 5,993,572 tons imported during 2013.

On the other hand, during FY2013-14, total imports stood at 34,271,332 tons compared to 33,206,594 tons imported in FY2012-13.
