Asian, African coal imports via RBCT fall 38.89% in Feb m-o-m

March 25: imports of coal from RBCT by African and Asian countries, excluding India, fell 38.89% to 983,312 tons during February 2014 as compared to 1,609,048 tons imported during January 2014, revealed data available with ICMW.

Imports in February this year also fell by 50.89% compared to 2,002,218 tons recorded during the same month in 2012, the data revealed.

During 2014, total coal imports by African and Asian countries stood at 2,592,360 tons compared to 2,854,474 tons imported during 2012.

The following table gives details of coal imports from RBCT by Asian and African countries during August-December, 2013, February 2014, February 2013, January-February 2014 and January-February, 2013 (in tons):
