Aug coal handling at V O Chidambaranar up 38.74% m-o-m

September 9: Coal handling at V O Chidambaranar Port stood at 659,000 tons during the month of August 2014, up 38.74% from 475,000 tons handled during July, according to a compilation by the Indian Ports’ Association.

During the corresponding month of the previous year, coal handling at the port stood at 992,470 tons.

During the first five months (April-August) of the current financial year of 2014-15, total coal handled at the port stood at 3,213,000 tons whereas the figure stood at 5,269,983 tons during the corresponding period last fiscal.
