August anthracite coal imports via Vizag up manifold

September 20: Imports of anthracite coal through the port of Vizag stood at 1,850 tons in August 2013 against 475 tons in July 2013, showing a manifold rise, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

There were no imports of anthracite coal during April-June, 2013, whereas the figure stood at 41,786 tons during the first four months of 2012-13.

In August, the entire consignment arrived from Ukraine in a price band of Rs 11,190 – Rs 11,316 ($182 - $173) per ton.

In July 2013, the entire consignment came in from Ukraine at a price of Rs 11,151 ($187) per ton.
