August coal despatches by CIL, SCCL down 0.16% m-o-m

September 18: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) during August 2014 stood at 31.19 million tons (mt), down 0.16% from 31.24 mt despatched during the preceding month of July, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Of the total despatches in August 2014, CIL’s despatches were at 28.12 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 3.07 mt. In July 2014, CIL’s despatches were at 28.27 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 2.97 mt, respectively.

On the other hand, in August 2013, CIL had despatched 28.29 mt and SCCL had despatched 2.12 mt.

During the first five months (April-August) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL stood at 159.96 mt while the figure stood at 153.68 mt during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

In 2013-14, total despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% as compared to 383.66 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s comprised 353.82 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 34.27 mt.
