March 31: A mix of excess availability and low demand pushed international coal prices down on March 30, market sources said.
South African standard coal wiped out almost its entire gains witnessed on March 27 whereas Australian coal maintained its downward journey during the day.
A weak trend was witnessed in Indonesian coal as well on lack of Chinese demand, they said.
On the other hand, coking coal prices fell fourth day running during which superior grades slipped by around $4 per ton on expectations of a soft demand from steel mills in the coming days.
