BCCL expects to commission two washeries by FY17

 November 18: Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), which has lined up five coking coal washeries with a combined capacity of 16.6 million tons per annum (mtpa), expects to commission two projects by the end of 2016-17, a company source said.

“We expect a couple of washery projects to start operations by next year,” the source said.

The 5-mtpa Madhuban washery project, which was awarded to Ranchi-based HEC Ltd, is expected to start operations sometime next year. The project was delayed due to relocations to new sites a number of times, he said.

 The other project expected to be commissioned is the 1.6-mtpa Dahibari washery project which was awarded to ACB (India) Ltd in late 2013.

 However, as per the original schedule, both these projects were to be completed by 2014.
