BCCL to surpass production, despatch targets

March 3: Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd (CIL), is expected to achieve record production and despatch levels of coal, surpassing the yearly targets set for 2013-14, a top company official said.

"Production is expected to be 33 million tons (mt) in 2013-14, against the targeted 32.5 mt. Despatches will be a record 35 mt against the targeted 33.20 mt," the official said.

For the 11 months ended February 2014, the company reported total production of 29.33 mt, against the target of 29.25 mt, registering a 4.9% growth year-on-year. Offtake has been 31.09 mt, against 30 mt targeted for the period.
