Birla Corp not hopeful of third-party sampling soon

November 20: Chances of introducing a third-party sampling mechanism in the non-power sectors, especially in cement, are rather thin, an official from Birla Corporation Limited, a leading cement maker, told ICMW.

"Coal India Limited just introduced a third-party sampling mechanism for the power sector and I believe only after seeing the pros and cons of the system, which I think will take more than a year, it can think of introducing a similar mechanism in the non-power sectors," he said.

He, however, added that going by the present attitude of CIL, the company is not expecting it to materialise at all.
