Taking cues from global indices like CAC, DAX and FTSE as well as the Indian Sensex, most of the power scrips on S&P BSE Power closed in the green on February 5, though the remaining power stocks still closed in red.
The Sensex gained 278.54 points (1.14%) to close at 24,616.97.
The S&P BSE Power index closed at 1,733.63 on February 5, 2016, up 9.46 (0.55%) points from the previous close of 1,709.80 On February 4. The market opened at 1,733.28 and Friday’s range was from 1,714.43 to 1737.64.
Suzlon Energy was the top gainer as the stock increased 9.38% on Friday. A number of other stocks registered gains such as Reliance Infra, BHEL and NHPC, while stocks like ABB and Power grid Power closed in red.
