CCL revamps Rajarappa washery
07 Jul 2014
July 7: Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) has revamped its Rajarappa coking coal washery which had become inoperative due to poor maintenance and outdated technology.
The washery, which was commissioned in 1986 with a capacity of 3 million tons per annum (mtpa), has been revamped by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), according to information available with ICMW.
The project was taken up at the behest of the Ministry of Coal (MoC) which asked CCL to take steps for revamping its old coking coal washeries which mainly supplied coal to the Steel Authority of India (SAIL).
