CIL FY16 washed coking coal output edges up 2% y-o-y

Washed coking coal production by CIL during 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 2.15 million tons (mt), 1.99% higher than 2.10 mt reported during the same period of the previous financial year, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The annual washed coking coal production target of CIL is 2.26 mt and the achievement was 95.09% at the end of the fiscal.
Washed coking coal production by Coal India Limited (CIL) in March 2016 decreased 1% on a month-on-month basis at 0.19 million tons (mt) 2016 from 0.20 in February.
The production in March this year was 6.16% lower compared to 0.21 mt target set for the month and 9.58% lower from the same period previous year, the data revealed.
