CIL, SCCL Nov coal despatches to power cos up 4.24%

December 17: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) during November 2014 stood at 37.09 million tons (mt), up 4.24% from 35.58 mt despatched during the preceding month of October, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Of the total despatches in November 2014, CIL’s despatches were at 33.88 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 3.21 mt. In October 2014, CIL’s despatches were at 32.23 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 3.35 mt, respectively.

On the other hand, in November 2013, CIL had despatched 29.28 mt and SCCL, 2.97 mt.

During the first eight months (April-November) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL stood at 267.14 mt while the figure was at 244.42 mt during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

In 2013-14, total despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% compared to 383.66 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
      
Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s comprised 353.82 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 34.27 mt.
