CIL, SCCL Oct coal despatches to power cos up 14%

November 19: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) during October 2014 stood at 35.58 million tons (mt), marginally up 13.89% from 31.24 mt despatched during the preceding month of September, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Of the total despatches in October 2014, CIL’s despatches were at 32.23 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 3.35 mt. In September 2014 CIL’s despatches were at 28.34 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 2.89 mt, respectively.

On the other hand, in October 2013, CIL had despatched 26.76 mt and SCCL, 2.54 mt.

During the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL stood at 229.89 mt while the figure stood at 212.18 mt during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

In 2013-14, total despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% compared to 383.66 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
      
Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s comprised 353.82 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 34.27 mt.
