17 Mar 2014
March 17: The management of Coal India Ltd (CIL) has assured the Coal Mine Officers' Association of India (CMOAI) that it will resolve the issues raised by the association within three months, an association source said.
"The management has given in writing that it will take concrete measures to settle the issues within three months. If that is not adhered to, we will resort to the strike again," the source said.
The major demands of the CMOAI include performance-related pay (PRP), additional pension scheme and promotion policy.
The CMOAI had launched a three-day strike on March 13, but deferred it, following talks with the management late into the night of the same day.
