CIL commences supply of imported coal to Nabha Power
26 Dec 2014
December 26: Coal India Ltd (CIL) has commenced supply of imported coal to Nabha Power Plant in Gujarat from Mundra port, an official told ICMW.
“Our one vessel carrying 1.80 lakh tons of coal had arrived at Mundra port around three weeks back and we have started moving the material from the port to the power plant of Nabha,” the official said.
He, however, said the movement is extremely slow due to shortage of rakes.
CIL is supplying imported coal to its power sector consumers through MMTC Ltd and Nabha Power is one of the four plants that had expressed desire to procure imported coal through the miner.
Consequent to intention showed by the power consumers, MMTC had floated one tender of 500,000 tons some months back for supplying the material.
