CIL hikes Rajmahal coal prices

April 4: State-owned Coal India Limited (CIL) has hiked prices for coal produced from Rajmahal mine of Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL) with effect from April 1, 2014.

"The board of CIL, at its 306th meeting held on March 20, 2014, approved fixation and add-on price in respect of the coal produced in the Rajmahal Mine of the Eastern Coalfields Limited at Rs 390 per ton in place of the existing Rs 300 per ton," the company said in a statement.

The hike was effected to rationalise the price of coal produced from Rajmahal mine due to reclassification of grade and price adjustments.
