CIL misses Nov coal production target

December 02: Coal India Ltd (CIL) missed its November coal production target as its growth rate fell below two digits during the month.
The company ended up producing 47.47 million tons (mt) coal in November against the target of 49.67 mt.
Despite missing the target, the company has reported 6.87% year-on-year (y-o-y) and 6.99 month-on-month (m-o-m) growth in November coal production as compared to 44.37 mt in October and 44.42 mt in November 2014.
The company’s production growth rate in October was 10.4%.
Total production during the first eight months of 2015-16 stood at 321.38 mt, nearly 3% lower than the target of 332.00 mt for the period, but 8.80% higher compared to 295.38 mt produced during the corresponding period of 2014-15.
