CIL’s April production up 10.69% y-o-y in April

May 4: Coal India Limited (CIL), on May 2, said its April 2015 output registered a sharp increase from April 2014 though it fell a little from the production level in March 2015.
Production of CIL in April 2015 stood at 41.52 million tons (mt), up 10.69% over 37.51 mt produced in April 2014, according to provisional data released by the company.
During April, the largest coal miner in the world surpassed its monthly production target of 40.93 million tons (mt) as three of its eight subsidiaries – MCL, SECL and CCL -- surpassed their respective targets, while three other subsidiaries – ECL and BCCL almost reached their production targets during the month, data revealed.
On a month-on-month basis, however, the company’s output fell from 57.27 mt produced in March 2015.
For the current financial year (2015-16), the company has set a production target of 548 mt.
According to available data, the company’s actual production volumes in April 2014 were 101% of the targeted 40.93 mt.
